VHF/UHF 1/4 wave Antenna

Here are pics of my 2/440  Antenna project. gain is 1/4 wave @ 2 meters, and 5/8 wave @ 440. I used a 1" piece of 3/32" brass tubing at the SO-239 connector. I then soldered it to the connector. I slid the radiating element ( 1/8" solid brass round stock) 19 1/2" in the brass tubing. the 440 tuning stub, stands 1" out, and 6.5" down. Reflecting elements are also 1/8" solid brass round stock. This is an expensive antenna to built, with these materials, but I chose these for quality, and durability. After this is fully constructed, and tuned, I will caot with a clear coat, or a rust inhibitor. All joints were soldered.

At this point in the construction, I have the radiating element complete, and only one of the UHF reflecting elements installed. I will post a pic of the finished antenna, when all complete.

And now for the completed antenna. And it works great!
